One life – one cabinet

This beautiful cabinet comes from a typography artist. The typefaces have found a new home – and are being put to good use there.
We actually wanted to keep the cabinet ourselves. And fill it with our favourite typefaces.
But we still have so many other lovely cabinets that this new addition is now allowed to move into new quarters after all.
It is empty and can be used for your favourite typefaces, favourite papers, and favourite prints. A wonderful way to tidy up more beautifully.
The cabinet bears the patina of a wonderful time spent in a creative and friendly home.

 ASBERN Radierpresse

This impressive etching press, bearing the serial number HKI231, was manufactured by ASBERN MASCHINENFABRIK A. G. AUGSBURG-GÖGGINGEN .
Using two driven steel rollers, it produces a wonderful, unique art print from ink, a printing plate and paper.
This etching press is capable of producing a wide range of prints: not only intaglio prints but also all kinds of letterpress plates, right through to linocuts and woodcuts – the upper roller is height-adjustable, which greatly expands its capabilities.

What a treasure is hidden in this cabinet.
It is packed full of display typefaces and various beautiful fonts, such as Lithographia, Garamond, Salto, Fanal, Reporter and Old English.
Added to these are wonderful ornaments, decorative lines, perforation lines and brass lines.
This is a pretty good way to get started with letterpress. Just buy a Boston platen press or an Original Heidelberg Platen Press (OHT) to go with it, and you’re ready to get started.
And three drawers are still empty for your own typefaces, papers, standing type, etc.

Printing with Style

A beautiful printing press, “compact” and equipped with two ink rollers, manufactured several decades ago in Frankfurt am Main. Even though the name sounds British.
Notice the sign: back then, the “Co” was still written with two upward strokes.

It has been checked and cleaned in our workshop. As a special bonus, we’ve fitted the Harth platen with a new set of rollers. What can we say? It prints beautifully and embosses superbly. Please take a look at the photos.

What would one of the wonderful platens in your possession be without the possibility of creating a cliché? Of course, such a self-created stand is a wonderful thing to have. However, logos, images and decorations are so much easier to print with a nylon print.

Cutting machine

This beautiful cutting machine was manufactured in Leipzig around 100 years ago.

We have thoroughly tested and serviced it and given it a fresh coat of paint. At 1,000 kg, it is no lightweight.

It has a locking bar that is operated by a lever.

The result is impressive.

An indispensable piece of equipment in a letterpress printing shop. It can be used to cut paper and cardboard perfectly to the desired size. This guillotine comes with 2 sets of blades (upper and lower knifes) and can cut sheets up to 120 cm in size.
