They used to be found in all print shops and nowadays enjoy rarity value.

They are usually found next to a letterpress platen. Filling material, closing frames, tools and closing tools were stored in this cabinet.

The cover is made of zinc, giving this beautiful piece a sturdy work surface. 

This gem is from a school of printing and still has all the important accessories for the original Heidelberg Crucible (OHT). These are evident below in the description – and of course in the photos.
